Blending the centuries-old art of marquetry with contemporary designs these designs were created to also include a social dimension: fuelled by the desire to provide work to conflict affected individuals, displaced skilled artisans from Syria were chosen: they develop the exquisite geometric collages of wood cuts, and fragments of various tints and colours and mother of pearl that are then inlaid into these items.
